Constable Constantineau had just completed a motorcycle escort at the French Embassy. He was returning to the station when crossing the newly opened Bytown Bridge. His motorcycle struck an 8 curb and he was thrown and struck his head which resulted in his death. The bridge had only been opened 12 hours and this was the second accident.
